Every kind of gathering

Weddings are our heart, but the house is just as happy hosting a birthday, a board dinner or a film crew.

Something different?

Hen weekends, vow renewals, charity balls. If it is a gathering, we can probably host it.

From first fizz to last dance

A wedding canape being served from a silver dome
  1. Arrivals and fizz

Guests drift in through the front doors to a glass in hand and a string trio on the lawn.

  2. The ceremony

Vows in the Great Hall or under the arch in the Walled Garden, whichever the weather allows.

  3. Drinks and photographs

Canapés on the lawn while the photographer makes the most of the golden hour.

  4. The wedding breakfast

Long tables in the Orangery, a seasonal menu from our kitchen and a speech or two.

  5. First dance

Everyone moves to the Hayloft for the cake, the first dance and the band.

  6. Last song, then bed

Late bar until one. Your guests stagger upstairs, and breakfast is waiting in the morning.

Good questions, quick answers

If yours is not here, ask us. We reply within one working day.

Do we have exclusive use of the house?

Yes. Only one booking is ever held at a time, so the house, courtyard and grounds are entirely yours from arrival until departure.

How many guests can you host?

Up to 140 for a seated dinner, 180 in the evening and 32 overnight. Smaller parties are very welcome too.

Can we bring our own caterer or drinks?

Our kitchen cooks everything on the day, and we are happy to build the menu around you. Wine can be brought in for a small corkage fee.

When should we book?

Saturdays in summer are usually taken eighteen months ahead, but midweek and winter dates are often available at shorter notice.

Is there a deposit?

A 25 percent deposit secures your date, and the balance is paid in two stages. We put the full schedule in writing.

Can we visit before we book?

Of course. Viewings are free and take about an hour, with a glass of something and no pressure.
