Booking and dates

When should we book?

Saturdays in summer are usually taken eighteen months ahead, but midweek and winter dates are often available at shorter notice.

Is there a deposit?

A 25 percent deposit secures your date, and the balance is paid in two stages. We put the full schedule in writing.

Can we visit before we book?

Of course. Viewings are free and take about an hour, with a glass of something and no pressure.

Can we hold a date while we decide?

Yes. We can hold a date free of charge for 14 days while you visit and decide.

The day itself

Do we have exclusive use of the house?

Yes. Only one booking is ever held at a time, so the house, courtyard and grounds are entirely yours from arrival until departure.

How many guests can you host?

Up to 140 for a seated dinner, 180 in the evening and 32 overnight. Smaller parties are very welcome too.

Can we bring our own caterer or drinks?

Our kitchen cooks everything on the day, and we are happy to build the menu around you. Wine can be brought in for a small corkage fee.

Is there a time limit on the day?

Music finishes at midnight and the late bar closes at 1am. Guests who are staying can carry on quietly in the sitting rooms.

Guests and practicalities

Is the house accessible?

The Great Hall, Orangery and gardens are step-free, and there are two ground-floor bedrooms with accessible bathrooms.

Are children and dogs welcome?

Children, yes, and we love them. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the gardens, and guide dogs everywhere.

What happens if it rains?

Every outdoor moment has an indoor twin. The Orangery and Hayloft are ready for drinks, photographs and dancing.
