Steady hands for tall trees.
Qualified, fully insured climbers for felling, pruning, hedges and stump grinding. A written quote before we start, and a tidy site when we leave.

We are a small team of qualified climbers and groundworkers. We prune to keep trees healthy, fell only when we have to, and leave your garden as tidy as we found it.

Tidy, every time
Jobs we are proud of
Two climbers, one very large ash and a tiny garden. They were calm, careful and gone by lunchtime, and you would never know they had been.
Helen R. · Tree felling, Yourtown“Honest advice. They told us the tree did not need to come down and pruned it instead.”
“A clear price in writing, a tidy site and a hedge that looks ten years younger.”
“Out in the rain at 9pm after the storm. Calm, kind and very quick.”

Climbers first, business owners second
Rookwood started with one climber and a borrowed chipper. Today we are a small crew, and the person who quotes your job is the person who climbs your tree.

Honest answers, before you ask
The things people most often want to know. If yours is not here, just ask.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the size of the tree, how easy it is to reach and what needs clearing. We give you a fixed price in writing after seeing the job, and it does not change unless you ask us to do more.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Site visits and written quotes are free for planned work. For emergencies we explain any visit charge on the phone before we set off.
Are you insured?
Yes, with £10 million public liability cover. We are happy to send you a copy of the certificate before we start.
Do I need permission to cut or fell a tree?
Not always, but some trees have a protection order or sit in a conservation area. We check the council records and can handle the paperwork for you.
Will you take the waste away?
Yes. Branches are chipped and removed, and logs are cut up. If you want to keep logs or woodchip, tell us and we will leave them where you like.
How long will the job take?
Most pruning and hedge jobs take a few hours to a day. Larger felling jobs can take a day or two. We give you an honest estimate when we quote.
Can you work during nesting season?
We can, but we check for nesting birds first. If a nest is active, we wait or work around it, because it is the law and the right thing to do.
